Wireless Security Upgrade for Country Hotel
Ashdown Park Hotel and Country Club has invested in the EMS Universe+ ACU universal wireless interfaces as the basis for a recent security upgrade. The 106 bedroom hotel, which is located in East Sussex's beautiful Ashdown Forest, is a listed 19th century mansion house. It was therefore of paramount importance not to damage the historical interior of the building during the upgrade.The ACU is a unique universal interface that connects any security alarm panel to the Universe+ range of wireless devices such as PIRs, contact switches and break glass sensors. This enables any existing hard-wired security system to be expanded without the need to install additional cable, no matter what make of control panel is used. Utilising 868Mhz two-way secure communications, the Universe+ ACU provides a low cost solution for system upgrades that can quickly be installed without disrupting business operation or damaging the fabric of the building.
The hotel used 16 ACUs to interface over 50 new wireless devices to the existing security system. Each device can be easily installed in less then 10 minutes, which means room occupancy within the hotel is unaffected. The upgrade was also completed without the need to take the existing security system off-line and install cable between the security devices and the ACUs.
